Position Summary and Responsibilities

Position Overview:

The Project Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely execution of projects that are deemed business/customer critical. This includes but is not limited to, reviewing customer purchase orders and documentation, creating project plans, risk-analysis of key deliverables for schedule attainment, follow-up on all departments related tasks and executive level reporting of progress.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews new orders and provides a proposed project schedule which should balance the current & anticipated production capacity as well as customer deadlines

  • Monitors orders during the pre-production phase, flags orders as they become executable and communicates any customer related delays to the Project & Customer Service teams

  • Proactively identify and resolve supply chain deficiencies ensuring that the Master Production Schedule is met or propose solutions that have the least impact on the customer/business

  • Collaborates with Production Supervisors on daily/weekly production targets and provides details into any late deliveries or schedule misses that need attention

  • Act as the Planning/Operations point of contact for inquiries related to assigned projects

  • Report accurate information within the ERP system in a timely fashion

  • Maintain excellent communication and working relationships with all departments within the company

  • Comply with, and assist in the enforcement of all company safety policies

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor


Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience

  • CPIM Certification preferred

  • 3 years experience in supply chain / planning environment or Project Management utilizing MRP

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work with changing demands in a fast paced environment

  • Advanced understanding of Engineer to Order manufacturing processes

  • Strong problem solving skills using data based analytics

  • Excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers at executive level

  • Proficiency in MS Office products with advanced knowledge of Excel

  • Ability to work with little to no supervision for extended hours

  • Professional appearance and behavior
