Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Software Engineer 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

Essential Functions:

The Common Open Mission System Architecture group is seeking engineers for CDDC Subsystem CSCI Testing and Integration to support Agile Software development through the start of subsystem testing. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with a multidisciplinary Integrated Product Team. Candidate must be able to conduct incremental component level testing and integration of product functionality to include:

  • Reviewing, interpreting, and analyzing formal/informal requirements

  • Creating Test Plans and Procedures that acknowledge technical and schedule constraints

  • Executing Test Procedures to ensure requirements compliance

  • Support development, integration, automation, and execution of test pass/fail quantitative metrics

  • Performing troubleshooting as required

  • Documenting Test results and creating Test Reports as needed

  • Writing Defects and

  • Performing Component to Component Integration



Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university

  • An active in-scope DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance

  • Experience integrating and testing software subsystems into systems

  • Experience in production development program(s) with languages such as C, C or Java

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarization with Human Machine Interface (HMI) products (GUIs, Displays, etc…)

  • Experience with air craft systems/subsystems architectures (i.e., CNI, vehicle, cockpit, …)

  • Experience with Python

  • Experience writing Test Scripts

  • Experience with Atlassian tool suite with add-ons like git and confluence

  • Experience in Agile SW development process
